Hello friends

Meeting your shadow is liberating, if a little daunting at first. It is a topic at the heart of therapy, so I hope you will take the exercise, who knows what hidden treasure you have inside?

During my twenties I worked in various admin roles, though I had a sense of meaninglessness I couldn’t shake. I’d somehow learned that there was something wrong with confident ‘career’ women. Assertive women intimidated me, and I didn’t fit in.

I’d always wanted to be a psychotherapist, though I pushed thoughts about it to my edges, out of my awareness. I was shy and knew any training that involved role plays and being truly seen seemed impossible for me. I was also afraid of what I might discover about myself. I even felt ashamed that I wanted to help others in this way. What could I have to offer anyway?
