Imagine the delight of finding hidden gold within yourself. What would you discover, or want to discover?

Hidden gold... what a concept. I am presently struggling with imposter syndrome in the writing of my book. Who am I to write a book on this subject? So is the clay effigy the imposter? Or is it covering the imposter? Or am I just terrified of revealing the gold within?

Hi Frances, it can be scary to look inside, even to find gold! Perhaps if you do the exercise you’ll connect with what you need inside to be able to write your book ✨

Thank you, Kate. I do believe that may be the right path to follow.

We are all imposters too Frances, everyone starts somewhere, we just need to give ourselves permission! ✨

Hidden gold inside of us? Yes, i've discovered that inside myself. However, because there aren't many people beside some of my family members to whom i can give this gold, i'm seeking a community of other people with similar interssts as mine.

For so many years, i was afraid to be myself. I thought that as my parents' firstborn and only daughter, my only responsibility in life was to be a good girl and make my parents proud. There were times when i felt bad about myself, but i had learned to automatically crush these negative thoughts. Two years ago, i felt unimaginably miserable and that was when i decided to go to weekly therapy sessions with a therapist in my hometown. As a result, i've been trying to utilize some of my hidden golds in exploring troublesome waters (the areas where my fears reside).

It sounds like you’re doing some important work on yourself, which always takes courage. It sounds too like you are shedding the clay! Often we do need to find community outside to share our gold with!

You're right, i'm doing some important work on myself. I need to do so in order to lay the foundations of my independent life.

Yes, we humans are social creatures and can't live without belonging to a community. You're right, sometimes we need to find communities outside where we're living.

I love this. It's at the heart of the yoga teahings too, that we are already complete and whole and perfect, but our essential nature has been covered over with wounds and hurts and accumulated life experiences. I like the idea that our 'cracks' are what lead us back to our pure nature 😊

This is such a beautiful concept, Kate; and yet so many times we forget to scrub the thick plaster layer and even believe that this is all who we are! I need to print out this golden Buddha picture!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the layers, it feels more familiar 😐

Thanks yes, I love the jungle background! 💛✨

I came across this post today after having posted my own piece about the gold hidden within us. A lovely coincidence. https://open.substack.com/pub/thecoachhouse/p/the-golden-shadow?r=2sw2cq&utm_medium=ios

Reading this, I thought the metaphor was beautiful, regardless of whether or not it was true. However, it seems it is true. The statue is in Thailand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Buddha_(statue)
