Hi friends,
I have come a long way from the daunting sight of the blank publication page that stared back at me ten months ago. I took a deep breath, and tapped those first tentative words, with no clue what would come. Sometimes, courage is the only choice!
Hope defeated fear, and I took the risk of pouring my time and limited energy into something that might be a road to nowhere. I didn’t know if I could do it, to create something useful for you, or to keep it up each week. Then, the words came, and so did you! 2000 of you! And what are my words without you? I’m so glad you’re here!
When I stopped practicing therapy during the pandemic after getting long covid, I was lost, bereft even, that I couldn’t pursue my work and passion. After so much dedication, two expensive trainings and 16 years commitment and sacrifice, my calling was backed up inside me, bursting, with nowhere to go.
This space allowed me to pour my therapeutic knowledge and experience into words. I wanted my weekly posts to sparkle with the magic of therapy. I share insights and transformative therapeutic questioning for my paid community, much like I’d ask you if you were a face to face client. Questions with the power to release you from your old stories and connect with your strength and truth, if you dare.
I have now posted more than 70 times this year, creating a library of resources for your personal growth, healing and inspiration - now easier to explore.
Writing here has helped me too. As I held you, I felt held by you in your reading, comments and shares. Your validation of my work is fuel. I’ve consolidated what I know works, I’ve visited themes that need ongoing attention in all of us. I found ways to help you reflect in depth without an expensive therapist, leading to change. I’ve been reminded of the beauty of self-discovery, not to dwell, but to rediscover lost parts, to shift, transform, and move onwards with courage and meaning.
Writing Letters from Therapy reminded me how much we can influence our own lives, feelings, behaviours and self concepts. How we can heal ourselves and our relationships, and be the masters of our destiny. I have more up my sleeve for my paid subscribers, to really hold you in your self-discovery work and move into a happier life of fulfilment.
