Hi friends
We all get lost in our thoughts and emotions, and it’s easy to get stuck into a juicy fantasy. But if we do it too much, we loose the essence of our life. We live inside our own heads and not in reality. I’m guilty of this too, and I’m not alone.
“I've lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” Mark Twain
It happens to the best of us! But if we don’t experience the beauty of everyday moments, we let our very existence pass us by.
There are lots of ways to be mindful, and I know many find following the breath difficult. There is so much solace in the reality of the present moment, which I wrote about last week - presence goes hand in hand with mindful living.
Mindfulness While Making Tea
Most of us make tea or coffee during the day, so it is a good moment to practice mindfulness. To experience the beauty of the moment we are blessed with. To train our wild minds into focus. I notice myself fall naturally into a state of gratitude as I do this meditation.
So let’s take this wisdom from Thich Nhat Hanh. Today, and every day, take time over your tea or coffee making, appreciating every step - then enjoy the taste mindfully too!
“Prepare a pot of tea to serve a guest or to drink by yourself. Do each movement slowly in mindfulness. Do not let one detail go by without being mindful of it. Know that your hands lift the pot by its handle. Know that you are pouring the fragrant warm tea into the cup. Follow each step in mindfulness. Breathe gently and more deeply than usual. Take hold of your breath if your mind strays.” Thich Nhat Hanh.
I hope you enjoy it!

How was it? What other mindful moments can you create through your day, to stop life passing you by? Chopping veg, showering, driving are some of mine!
I loved this. Thank you for the reminder. <3
