What is your primary focus going forwards? For me, my family is no.1 in the short term while a family member is unwell, though long term it’s focussing on my writing here.

Great Q. I feel like my direction is always changing, which makes it difficult to pick a lane and stay in it! There’s definitely something related to creating, but the creative path I’ll stick to long term is still TBD. I also make jewelry, btw! I think I’ve mentioned that before. 😊

I couldn't remember who it was who said they make jewellery, thanks for reminding me Alexis!

I think it's good not to be too rigid either, but carving out time to follow a creative path sounds so beautiful! (I would say that I know, but still!) ✨

This was a lovely read. Thank you.

My focus this year will be my family and book writing. Having just learned how to self-publish, I’m at the beginning of my journey. I have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I’ve started.

Thanks Jenny. Nothing happens overnight but you'll be happy to look back over all the work you did to get there when you're there! Slow and steady...

I agree. Although the process has taken years, I am now on the right trajectory and am reaping the benefits.

That’s so good to hear Jenny! I think there can be a long foundational period and then traction and critical mass is reached!

I'm in the midst of writing a post on creativity and spirituality, so I appreciated reading about your creative journey!

And I'm going to have to do some thinking on the primary focus question, as it feels like it changes all the time!

I’ll look out for that, such a lovely and important topic. I suppose maybe it is better to distinguish between professional and personal, one for each!

My daughters have grown up so my primary focus now will be me and to become financially independent.

That’s a great goal, it can be strange after spending so much energy looking after family, but it often feels so liberating to have financial independence! Good luck with it!✨🙏🏻

Thanks for sharing your story. It's always lovely to hear where people started from and I love the concept that we are what we do each day, it's definitely something that I am much more aware of these days. My main priority is weaving together family life, accepting limitations due to ill health and exploring my creativity - which includes investing time in writing more on here and connecting with other writers whose words resonate with me.
