Thanks for the welcome! As someone who has been on the path 90 years, it is refreshing to find someone who simply wants to share their experiences to help others. Experience is the best teacher; and I'm always open to learning. Fairly recently, my daughter and I moved to the high desert. We reside in St George, which we felt was Paradise with its beautiful red cliffs...and blue skies and billowing white clouds...most of the year.
Thank you Barbara. I very much appreciate the older generation on here I can learn so much from. It sounds amazing where you live, very different from the London suburbs!!
Kate, for 63 years I have been into health/nutrition research myself. I wrote a couple of unpublished manuscripts back in 1979. One was entitled How to Raise an Organic Baby: based on 23 years of raising 4 children. It did not go, because the publisher told me that the AMA (American Medical Association) would not approve... I gave up on promoting it and another book too., I am glad!!! I learned a great deal in the interim. Finally in 1995, my first book was published, which I quietly promoted for a number of years. However, I realized, when I asked for feedback and it was not given...many did not like what I wrote. It conflicted with their views. So at this point, I just keep on learning...and passing along information to others with my free substack: barbaracharis.substack.com
Love to get to know you Kate ❣️ What a beautiful introduction (and the pic of you in the greenery at the end is soooo dreamy!! 50?! I would’ve never guessed!)
It would be fantastic to see some jewelry images to complement reflections as arts has such profound therapeutic effects as well 😍 excited to come along on the journey! Waving from Belgium 👋🏼✨🥰
Thanks Elin, oh yes, that’s a good idea to add jewellery pics, I did put links in but yes I’ll add one at the end. Yes, 50 this year. 😳 I think I’m aging inwardly…! 💛😁
Love this. First let me say, beautifully constructed and I get a felt sense of you.
I’m also a therapist writing here on Substack. So excited to come across your newsletter! I’m in Denver, CO (although that would tell you very little about me as it’s never really felt like home to me. More of a midwestern gal missing water). I look forward to following along. 💖
Love this entire post. Especially drawn to the photos you used of yourself in such beautiful settings. Agree with Elin that you are looking amazing at 50! I like what you have to offer. Oftentimes people can't afford therapy and you share some of the wealth here for free subscribers.
Thanks Stephanie! I liked your photos too, I think people like to know who we are, even if it feels cringy! Thanks ☺️ I’m 50 later this year, it feels strange to type it! 😨😅
Hi, Kate! I loved your introduction. I'm also new here on the Stack and you inspired me to make my own introduction too. You got a new subscriber, excited to read your next letters 😊
Very happy to be joining your space here. I am currently writing for a psychotherapy practice in London and it's fascinating. I believe love and compassion is the key to healing. I am a writer and artist, and I believe creativity has a power to heal too! x
Kate, it's such a happy find to stumble across your Substack. You're Discover the Gold Inside You post found me at just the right time. I've been thinking about that exact thing about our inner/creative lives, and I hadn't heard that story before. (Tara Brach is such a light.) I'd love to see some of your jewelry on your About page. I'm sure there are some heartfelt stories around each piece you make. Excited to read more:-)
I saw that, and it was tempting. I fly to Morocco for three weeks next Wednesday, so I have to pass. But perhaps the next one? :-) I'll most likely upgrade to paid when I have more bandwidth. I do regular journal prompts with others and for myself, so I'd love to learn from you, too.
Here on the wild west coast of Wales, subscribing today, hoping reading and meditating on your topics will aid my intention (that of healing) for 2024, along with some paid therapy and choosing the quieter life...
Amazing post! I am yet to write mine so this is great inspiration. Though I kind of have one similar so I don’t know if to use or update that? I live in a static caravan without any central heating by ten lakes Yorkshire/north Lincs way. Out of the most dire and desperate circumstances, a dream life was born ✨🌈
Hi Amber, I’m delighted to hear that you created a dream life. You remind me that the lotus flower grows in the mud, and the phoenix is born from the ashes ✨🪷✨
I feel fortunate to have discovered your post this morning. Your introduction intimated that this is a fine place to land. It seems you have traveled a long road to find this time in your life and have it fit so well. I look forward to hearing of your travels and wisdom. Thank you for your efforts to be here.
Let me know where you’re from, and if there are any topics you’d like me to cover in these posts! 💫💛💫

Hi Janey, you’re welcome here! I hope you find what you need here. Did you read my post about intentions?
I love wales, I’m a quarter Welsh so it’s in my blood! Happy healing 🙏🏻✨💛
Not yet...thanks for the pointer
Hello Kate, I come to you by way of Elly. I first learned the metta practice over 40 yrs ago. I am enjoying connecting with reflective people on here.
