Dear friends,
This is your invitation to the Members Personal Growth Tools Page! A cosy therapeutic journaling space, for you to ponder and expand the themes I write about, and where I’ll answer any questions. Below are my six pathways to your true self, where all my posts and exercises point. There are six therapeutic journaling prompts to get started below. Come and shine a light inside, and discover your buried treasure!
What’s in the Personal Growth Tools Page?
You’ll find all the recent self discovery exercises, therapeutic journaling prompts, resources, workbooks, exercises etc in the Personal Growth Tools Page.
These tools will help you grow self awareness, acceptance, and confidence. Let go of old patterns, pain, psychological blocks and stories, and start new ones. Nurture your soul here, and find greater meaning in your life. I’ll be adding to it every week.
Often we don’t even know what buried treasure lies within until we look. Grab a cuppa and notebook and claim your well earned therapeutic time.
If you aren’t a paid member yet, you are welcome to join. You’ll get all the resources to deepen your self awareness for the investment equivalent of a monthly coffee or drink, or a whole year for less than the price of one session with a therapist. Your contribution also supports me to continue writing these posts. (Read more about what I offer here.)
Six Pathways to Your True Self
I defined these pathways to help you reconnect with your truest self, the buried treasure within. This is what’s helped me and my clients. Maybe one aspect particularly needs your attention? My posts, prompts, and exercises all have one or more of these elements. See the therapeutic journaling prompts below.
1. Clarity - Self Awareness
When our minds are full, confused, or we are plagued with self doubt or a lack of direction, life can feel like walking through sludge. Developing self awareness by understanding and connecting with your emotions, clearing your head, and discovering what really makes you tick is the first step to freedom. By knowing our thought patterns, shadow side, and how you really relate to others, you can choose better ways to live from the true you. Lots of this to come.
2. Nurture - Make Way for Your Soul
If we don’t nurture our soul we feel empty and flat, without knowing why. There are ways to let your soul do the talking and give this part of you the space, inspiration and love it needs. This will awaken your sense of spirit, liveliness and help you to feel more whole. This could include changes in lifestyle, creativity, therapeutic journaling, meditations and finding inspiration.
3. Acceptance and Self Compassion
Often in life we can feel stuck, weary and sad. When our subconscious mind is still battling with past traumas, losses, or introjection (other peoples internalised ideas), we can feel the burden of shame, disproportionate anger or low self worth. If you can process and move on from the past, and develop self compassion and protection along the way, you will feel lighter and freer. I have lots of tools coming, to leave memories behind, heal and move on to brighter days. (For now, try the Loving-kindness practice or the Self Compassion post and exercise.
4. The Wisdom of Your Body - an Untapped Resource
Our body is full of wisdom that has evolved over millennia. Your body can help you when you need grounding, calm and confidence, to feel strong and beautiful, no matter what. I’ll share my best tips in the coming months, including getting a better nights sleep, and loving your body.
5. Growing Better Habits
Bad habits, even small ones, can have us heading down the wrong path without our noticing. The further we go, the more ingrained the path becomes. When we are aware of our good and bad habits we can grow or shrink them. We can backtrack and forge new pathways, heading somewhere we actually want to be. I have many useful exercises coming soon. You can start by being clearer on where you’re coming from with this defining your values post and exercise, and where you’re heading in my post The Road Less Travelled.
6. Meaning - Creating your Future
Without a sense of meaning we can feel unsatisfied and unsure of ourselves. What is the point of anything, anyway? When we take a close look at the meaning of our lives we can feel fulfilled every day. Start by being clear on your values as well as your direction ahead.
